Babies and Dogs

What you need to know about these two creatures co-existing!



1. Always make sure your pets have had there immunizations and de-wormer before putting a baby around them!



2. Bring a blanket that the baby was wrapped in at the hospital home for your dog to smell. This way~ the dog has already become familiar with the smell when the baby is brought home =)


3. Make sure your dog has it's own personal space~ a special bed elevated or secluded in a room so if your mobile baby proves to be annoying, it can get away to a safe place and relax!



4. Keep those licks to a minimum! Although a dog licking a baby is not usually dangerous, the baby is still developing it's immune system, and the dog's saliva may contain harmful substances.


5. Puppies love toys! so be careful about leaving your babies toys around to be chewed on by the puppy!


6. Babies love to grab food, pull tails, bite, and scratch..make sure that you are always observant of your little one around any animals!
